Bringing Back the Glory

After Solomon’s workers had finished building the Temple, they held a worship service.  The band (trumpeters and singers) joined together to praise and thank the Lord for His blessing and enabling power to complete the work.  The Bible then says that as they worshipped, the glory of the Lord came down and was so overwhelming that the “priests were not able to continue ministering, for the glory of the Lord filled God’s temple.”  I have often longed to see the day when the Glory of the Lord would so descend upon our sanctuaries that every thing simply comes to a halt because of the awesomeness of His Presence.  Have you ever wondered what it was that seems to have created such an atmosphere that God’s Glory filled the place?  Notice 2 Chronicles 5:13 (with my emphasis added): “The trumpeters and the singers joined together to praise and thank the Lord with one voice.” I have a feeling that when God’s people get together in complete unity of spirit and purpose and when that single purpose is to praise and thank (i.e. honor) God, we would experience blessings of His Presence like we can only imagine.  Why don’t we give it a try?  Comments, anyone?
