Proverbs Challenge, Day 14

“ Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”

As we approach the half way point of our August Proverbs Challenge, these words ring out to me today.  I watched the news yesterday about “flash violence” occurring in Philadelphia and other places here in the United States.  With all the blessings and prosperity this land has, who would ever have imagined rioting and random gang violence in the streets of the city whose name means “brotherly love”?  America, it is time to consider the Wisdom of the Ages.  Righteousness will STILL exalt a nation and sin is STILL a reproach!  We had better come to our senses, find true wisdom, and return to God.
