Proverbs Challenge, Day 17

“ A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.”

One of the things I have always found puzzling is why so many followers of Christ seem to waste much time “under the circumstances”.  Somehow we often let our spirit be “crushed” by the weight of the cares of this life.  Yet the Scriptures remind us that in the Lord’s presence is fullness of joy.  We are told that the joy of the Lord is our strength.  In the verse that spoke to me from Proverbs 17 today is this prescription for wellness: “a merry heart does good like medicine”.  Why not let the joy of the Lord lift you up today?  Take another dose of His grace and be blessed!

One Response to “Proverbs Challenge, Day 17”

  1. Joy is a gift from God. It can come from no where else. Over this past year a dear friend has reminded me often, ” Do not let anyone or anything steal your joy.” It is very good medicine.
